Why Sometimes It Is Not Good To Trust Beautiful Women With Mesmerizing Green Eyes…
Do you remember this girl?
I already told her story here on Medium… My Kim Basinger look-alike girlfriend was an excellent saleswoman at Pakalolo, the surf shop where we worked in the nineties. The store chain used to send some of the best salespeople to work in Guarujá — a beach city — during the high season, and they did this with Kim Basinger’s miniature.
I, of course, went with her.
One afternoon, as soon as she finished her shift, we went to sit at a bar in the same mall where the store was located (for those familiar with Guarujá in the 90s, next to Postinho, in Enseada Beach). We were there, eating something when I noticed a family having dinner at the next table. It was a couple, a girl of about ten, and a child of two. Who was in the same situation as the child below:

“That hat on the child…?”
“It’s an adult’s!” she replied, with a half-smile on her face, full of pride. I watched her… The beautiful green eyes sparkled with her “prankness.”
“It was you, wasn’t it?”
“Of course!” she said, even more proud. “There were no more children’s hats; what could I do?” And she took another french fry and put it in her mouth… chewed… swallowed… looked me in the eye and said, full of confidence: “I am an excellent saleswoman!”
She really was…
