Letter from a Brazilian to Trump’s Followers
Perhaps it is interesting for you to understand what is happening now in the USA from those who live in another country…
I know that some Americans consider my country, Brazil, as a “shithole.” I don’t blame them. My country is about the same age and population as the United States, and you have achieved much more important things at this time. But just like there, here we also have good people who want the good of our nation and the nations of others.
And I think that we Brazilians, in general, want the United States to be successful.
Not only because we have been your allies for a long time, and because we have an excellent business relationship.
We wish the United States well because you are a role model.
It is inevitable to think that way since American culture is intensely widespread here — and the rest of the world, too. Your movie industry, the industry that tells stories and teaches us its morals, is undoubtedly the best in the world. That means that your values end up becoming our values, too.
I think this is great.
Our country needs good values.
