An Ex-Shy Experience May Bring You Some Light…
I was born shy, very shy. It was one of those children who clung to his mother’s leg whenever he could. I was the quiet one in the back of the class, the last one chosen for games, HATED speaking in public… Having to talk to a pretty girl, then, was torture.
And, for a long time, this was not a problem. Yes, I was like that, but so what? I’m saying this because shyness is not a disease, and it doesn’t hurt anyone. If you were born this way, and this characteristic does not interfere with your life, why change? Live inside your shell and be happy!
However, I was gradually being pushed to stages. It started at school when I was part of a band and went on stage for the first time. Then, I started working at a UN organ in which part of my duties was to give lectures on this organ. Forced to retake the stage for professional reasons, I gradually got a taste for it… To the point of deciding to change my career and become an actor.
Yes, the child who clung to his mother’s leg was so timid that he decided to make a living on stage and in studios.
